Stories from Crete!

Το Stories from Crete ξεκίνησε σαν ένα προσωπικό καταφύγιο. Ένα μέρος όπου μπορούσα να γράψω για την Κρήτη, να μοιραστώ εικόνες, στιγμές, σκέψεις και μικρές ιστορίες από το νησί.  Από το 2018 που έκανα εδώ την τελευταία μου ανάρτηση πολλά έχουν αλλάξει. Κυρίως γύρω μου. Η αγάπη μου όμως για την αφήγηση και για την Κρήτη δεν έσβησε. Απλά έκανε μια παύση. Τώρα επιστρέφω με νέα διάθεση κι έναν διαφορετικό σκοπό.  Αυτή τη φορά θέλω να χτίσω κάτι ποιό ουσιαστικό. Να μετατρέψω το blog αυτό σε ένα ψηφιακό σπίτι για τις ιστορίες της Κρήτης, όχι μόνο δικές μου αλλά κυρίως άλλων ανθρώπων, τόπων και εμπειριών. Θέλω να δημιουργήσω περιεχόμενο που θα εμπνέει, θα πληροφρεί και γιατί όχι θα μπορεί να στηρίξει επαγγελματικά το όραμά μου για μια ζωή γεμάτη δημιουργία και σύνδεση με τον τόπο μου.  Αν αγαπάτε την Κρήτη, αν σας αρέσουν οι αληθινές ιστορίες, οι ήρεμες βόλτες στα χωριά, τα κρυφά τοπία, οι γεύσεις και οι άνθρωποι που έχουν κάτι να πουν, τότε είστε στο σωστό μέρος. One of my favorite monuments to visit and take pictures of when in Heraklion is Loggia. 

I may or may not have mentioned that I'm taking photography lessons (on my instagram account I mean). So once a week I try to get out of the house just to explore and "shoot" things in order to learn my camera. The following pictures were taken a couple of months ago with a compact camera. I had been wanting to hike through Agia Irene Gorge for the past three years and finally made it a week ago. I wonder what took me so long. It was an experience worth while.

Two weeks ago I had the chance to go on a road trip to Sougia. Sougia is on the south coast of Chania, a little village right next to the sea. Although I never was too fond of taking a swim there, this time I changed my mind. So far this year it's been my best day at the beach!!!
